A Welcome to Our Newest Team Members
In October, we had four new members join our team across the Scot JCB Group. Joining us we had Matt Mcgowan in our Glasgow Parts, Thomas Flockhart as an SPS Service Engineer, Margaret Moffat as a Credit Controller in our Head Office in Glasgow, and Charlie Murray as a Agricultural Sales Engineer in Forfar.
Matt McGowan - Parts Sales Advisor - Glasgow
What did you do before joining Scot JCB? I worked in the motor trade with Mercedes Benz and Porsche as a warranty administrator for the last 22 years before that it was the parts dept
What attracted you to come and work in your role? Returning to the parts role where it all started for me in my motor trade journey back in the late 80s after leaving school
What are you looking forward to the most in your role? I am most looking forward to the different areas that Scot JCB cover including the industrial air side of the business
When you’re not at work, what do you like to do? Most of my time out with work is spent socialising with friends and family, I also like to cook following recipes and at weekends watch my 18-year-old son playing football for Hamilton
When you were younger, what was your dream job? My dream job was to be a fireman
Who would be your 3 ideal dinner guests, past or present? Billy Connolly, Bono and James Martin
What's an interesting fact about you that people might not know when they first meet you? I was a Star Wars movie geek and kept memorabilia way back when Star Wars IV a new hope was released
Thomas Flockhart - Service Engineer - Stewart Plant Sales Glasgow
What did you do before joining Scot JCB? Before joining Scot JCB, I was in school as well as attending a vocational course in mechanical engineering.
What attracted you to come and work in your role? I was always interested in all things mechanical from a young age and knew I would like a career in the industry. Therefore, serving my apprenticeship with Scot JCB was a good fit for me.
What are you looking forward to the most in your role? I loved being involved in large machinery and being able to travel all over to fix machines for customers.
When you’re not at work, what do you like to do?
When I'm not at work I like to be outdoors, whether that is camping, fishing or walking my dog. I also enjoy riding my motorbike
When you were younger, what was your dream job? When I was younger, my dream job was as an outdoor instructor.
Who would be your 3 ideal dinner guests, past or present? My ideal dinner guests would be Joe Rogan, Ford Kiernan and Elon Musk
What's an interesting fact about you that people might not know when they first meet you? I completed a triathlon when I was younger to raise money for charity and was featured in the local newspaper
Margaret Moffet - Credit Controller - Glasgow
What did you do before joining Scot JCB? I was a Credit Controller @ Wolseley UK Ltd
What attracted you to come and work in your role? I was looking for a new position, came for an interview and got a lovely positive feeling from Irene, Stephen, and Sarah.
What are you looking forward to the most in your role? Probably Conquering IFS
When you’re not at work, what do you like to do? I enjoy Spending time with my family.
When you were younger, what was your dream job? I never had one.
Who would be your 3 ideal dinner guests, past or present? I would pick, Elvis, Walter Smith, and the Queen.
What's an interesting fact about you that people might not know when they first meet you? I can play the accordion and flute.
